On May 6th, the project manager of the Port Authority of La Reunion，an overseas province of France and the contractor representative from Bouygues, one of the world's top ten contractors listed in the "250 Largest International Contractors in the World" by Engineering New record (ENR) in 2022 visited rubber fenders factory of JIER Marine. They witnessed the third-party inspections by Bureau Veritas and SGS-CSTC Standards Technical Services Co., Ltd., a world-renowned testing, inspection and certification company. The final inspection lasted for three days.
From May 6th to 8th, the project manager and contractor representative visited the engineering laboratory with JIER Marine’s overseas marketing team. Laboratory personnel carried out some physical performance tests on the rubber fender specimens, such as tensile strength, elongation at break, abrasion resistance, etc. All tests were inspected and witnessed by BV inspector and the results totally conformed to international standards. In addition, the laboratory staff prepared several pieces of rubber before and after aging to enable the visitor to learn more about the aging resistance performance of the rubber fenders used in this project.
After the physical tests, JIER Marine’s overseas marketing team accompanied the project manager and contractor representative to visit our rubber fender factory. The BV inspector and the project manager made some detailed appearance inspections, strict dimensions inspections, assembly inspections, HDG thickness inspections, thickness inspection of marine paint, etc. Subsequently, under the supervision of the BV inspector, JIER Marine selected 10% of the rubber fenders randomly to perform compression tests in accordance with PIANC 2002. Each rubber fender was compressed 4 times to a height of 70% of its designed rated compression ratio. The project manager, the contractor representative as well as the BV inspector supervised the whole process and had a discussion with JIER Marine’s overseas marketing team on the standards of compression test and operating procedures, which enabled them to be aware of the great significance of PIANC 2002 to rubber fender inspection. After the compression test, the project manager and the contractor representative carefully examined the compressed fenders’ rebound heights and appearances. As a result, all the fenders for Container Port Project for La Reunion Port passed the examination of PIANC 2002, showing the reliability and stability of JIER Marine’s rubber fenders. All the test data showed that the rubber fenders produced by JIER Marine were firmly in line with the technical requirements of Container Port Project for La Reunion Port and also in accordance with strict international standards. Then the project manager had in-depth communication with JIER Marine overseas marketing team about loading and unloading, and determined the final shipment plan. The project manager commended JIER Marine for its products’ high qualities and efficient fulfillment of the contract within a short period of time.
